Rome is one of the prettiest cities on earth and has something to see on every corner. So making a schedule up front is not necessary, just get lost and explore.
You obviously can’t visit Rome without going to the Colosseum! Some find it old and boring, but I loved every bit of it. I love history so I really liked learning more. You can do a group tour, but I recommend you to buy tickets up front and buy a headset so that you can listen to the tour and wander around on your own speed.
Besides the cultural highlights you must see, Rome is full of small streets and beautiful squares/ Piazza’s. There are beautiful fountains, sculptures and mini Parks all over Rome.
And last but not least, eat your heart out! Everything is delicious and don’t be shy making more stops than you would normally do. If you don’t have enough time to eat everywhere, you can use my top 10 of must eats in Rome!
